Managing Software Architect (m/f/x)

Location: Aachen/ Düsseldorf, Germany

Your tasks

  • Strategic architecture development: design, plan and lead the implementation of technical improvements on enterprise level to enable new business
  • Implement tech governance to align teams in technology selection/deployment and enable conscious technology decisions
  • Improve R&D Maturity: reduce technical debt, professionalize the software development lifecycle, increase development team effectiveness
  • Improving and merging development tools and processes across sites
  • Increasing the level of automation in the software development process and enabling continuous delivery and release on demand
  • Ensuring that non-functional requirements are adequately addressed in the product development
  • Fostering technical innovation
  • Supporting the enterprise-wide agile transition by appropriately applying agile principles and practices to architecture development

Your profile

  • Several years of experience in working in a tech leadership position like enterprise architect, lead architect or head of architecture
  • Experience in developing and leading soft- and hardware development teams along with experience and ability to influence at all levels
  • Knowledge of enterprise and application design patterns
  • Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and Cloud Services such as AWS, Azure
  • Understanding and experience with container-based architectures
  • Understanding of architecture governance and solution design management processes
  • Understanding of security management, governance, and risk
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment
  • Broad technical knowledge, and ability to quickly assimilate new skills
  • Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus), both written and oral with the ability to translate technical expressions into easy to understand and clear language
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with executive leadership, IT, and business teams throughout organization
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
