Senior POS System Engineer (m/f/x)

Location: Ashburn, USA
Business Unit: US Office
This role will be responsible for interfacing with Utimaco clients and vendors to ensure delivery and support of Utimaco’s KeyBRIDGE Payments/Point of Interaction product line and will be based in Utimaco’s Ashburn, VA office.

Your tasks

  • Primary responsibility will be to manage the end-to-end delivery of new and updated KeyBRIDGE POS functionality, from intake with the customer and/or vendor through to final product
  • Provide customer support
  • Work with the Utimaco support team to implement a robust support model
  • Work with Utimaco Sales and Product Owner teams to help drive strategy on POS functionality, including integration with other Utimaco products and enhancements to meet evolving market and compliance requirements (e.g. Remote Key Loading)
  • Creation of design specification and supporting documentation following industry best practices and techniques
  • Assist QA team with the development of system and UAT test plans and scripts
  • Direct the end-to-end delivery of net new and enhancements to the PIN Entry Device capabilities
  • Stay current with market trends

Your profile

  • Experience working in the POI Top Player market, e.g. Verifone, Ingenico, PAX, IDTech, Castle/BBPOS
  • Basic working knowledge of general cryptographic principles
  • Hands-on experience working with POS Payment Device hardware, cabling, and software
  • Basic network and full stack (e.g. Client, Server, Device) troubleshooting capabilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following: Verix, Engage, Telium, Axium, VRK, ORKI
  • Understanding of the evolving standards informing and driving Key Injection strategy, e.g. PCI Standards, ANSI TR-31, TR-34, X9.143
  • Technical Project Management skills including design of new or enhanced specifications, translating from external vendor documentation to use- and test-case details for Utimaco development teams to build from
  • Proven ability to work closely with multinational vendors, where establishing clarity of sometimes complicated concepts and requirements across different languages (written and spoken)
  • Highly Customer Focused with strong Project- and Personal- Management Skills 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment, taking a collaborative approach to engagement across departments
