Trainer - Quality Assurance (m/f/x)

Your tasks

  • Set up and run tests in line with test specifications and analyze test results before taking appropriate actions (i.e. passing the test, raising a defect).
  • Monitor outcomes of tests and bug reports
  • Explain test results, trends and potential issues to relevant software developers, technical writers and others, and seek feedback.
  • Write manual or automated test cases in line with a specification to test a piece of functionality, checking ambiguities in tests with Development
  • Create test cases which cover functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and security of the software to a sufficient degree
  • Contribute to technical risk reviews, analyzing test coverage against functional specifications for component changes
  • Implement training reporting processes and drive forward training completions.
  • Responsible for the development and compilation of the training content, as well as for the technical and organizational preparation of customer training in cooperation with back office, system engineering, development team and customer support team.
  • Create training concepts for different customer requirements and adapting the customer desires.
  • Respond to general inquiries regarding training and provide support customers inquires regarding the training

Your profile

  • Experience of manual execution of test cases to test a complex application or component in a commercial environment
  • Writing and amending test cases to test the functionality of software against specifications and ensure coverage across projects
  • Identifying hardware and operating system requirements from functional specifications.
  • Installing and configuring operating systems to perform test cases mainly in Linux
  • Produce written reports on test activities, opportunities and risks, and explain recommendations to management
  • Identifying defects (software, documentation, etc.), raising and tracking them to resolution
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements for test efficiency
  • Working on the server side of various platforms (DELL R610, R620, R630, R640, and variants)
  • Scripting to aid manual testing (using languages such as Python or Bash)
  • Experience with a Defect Tracking System (e.g. Mantis or Jira)
  • Provide activity and task estimates based on high level SWAG (estimate is made based on what is available) plans
  • Strong communication / presentation skills
  • Creating relevant test cases and adapting existing test cases to meet requirements / extend coverage
  • Making accurate estimates of work/effort requirements, based on high level requirements, to contribute to planning process
  • Ability to coach junior colleagues on technical issues
  • Fluent German and English in spoken and written form
