Head of R&D (m/f/x)

Deine Aufgaben

• Strategic responsibility for technical product strategy, hardware and software roadmap execution, project delivery & customer support services
• Understand business and development strategies and apply knowledge to improve long-term development and product plans and specifications
• Focus on building and maintaining a state-of-the-art development environment
• Articulate a clear strategic vision and generate excitement in the teams
• Setup modern reporting and steering processes i.e. resource utilization
• Proactively act to understand business and project requirements to deliver in time, quality and costs
• Engage in establishing an agile culture with a focus on R&D and interfaces.
• Work with team leads to build strong management team to steer technical product development
• Identify and track key metrics of system or process effectiveness and efficiency.  Use data to revise procedures and optimize development processes
• Work on forming one IS R&D team across development sites and drive tool harmonization
• Mentor and provide guidance on development and engineering/QA practices for other team members to spread and improve knowledge in the team. 
• Make articulate and effective presentations to a variety of audiences – large, small, internal and external concerning products, technology, organizational structure and company

Dein Profil

• Experienced functional lead or manager for a team of c10 engineers/architects, and hence coordinated activities
• Project management and delivery of significant, complex commercial software projects to budget, time and quality
• Experience with hardware development, combined HW+SW appliances, encryption or security is a plus
• Capacity to forecast future needs of the department, both technical and non-technical
• Knowledge and experience of industry standard methodologies, tools and processes for software development
• Successful development of projects through the full project lifecycle - specification to delivery
• Ability to negotiate requirements with a business owner/customer representative balancing business and technical requirements
• Capacity to build and lead a team, establishing and exceeding objectives
• Strategic direction and vision for the unit
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
