Utimaco strengthens executive management team to accelerate execution on its strategic growth plan
Aachen, January 14th 2019 – Over the last years, Utimaco has developed into one of the leading global players in cyber security with a strong focus on information security and telecommunication compliance solutions. With the strategically important acquisition of the Atalla Hardware Security Module and Key Management businesses from Micro Focus, Utimaco has achieved a very important landmark to increase global footprint and create a significant extension of portfolio and customer base towards the global payment industry.
In a recent strategy process, further focus on portfolio extension as well as investments in Utimaco’s global sales and delivery resources have been decided. To strengthen the execution of this strong growth strategy, Utimaco is announcing an extension of its Management Board.
Stefan Auerbach, who has been the Chairman of our Advisory Board during the last year, will join as Managing Director and take the position as CEO of Utimaco with immediate effect.
Malte Pollmann will be responsible as Chief Strategy Officer for Corporate Development and M&A. Together with a dedicated team he will exploit all the existing and upcoming M&A opportunities aligned with Utimaco’s long term strategy.
Stefan Auerbach has been working with the management, shareholders and Advisory Board for the last year and was directly involved in last year´s strategy process, which gave him a good insight into the market, customer needs and the competitive advantages of our global business.
Stefan has a background of more than 30 years in R&D, service, marketing and management of global sales organizations for information technology and mobile security. He started his career at Nixdorf Computer, held several key management positions at Siemens Nixdorf and was a long-term Board Member in Wincor Nixdorf and Giesecke & Devrient.
The decided extension of the board team and its responsibilities will help Utimaco to extend the global reach and continue to secure a strong growth trajectory in the global cyber security market.
