인터넷 액세스 네트워크를 통해 법 집행 기관이 관심 있는 당사자 간의 통신을 감청할 때는 일반적으로 능동적 감청 방법과 수동적 감청 방법의 두 가지 옵션이 있습니다;

능동적 감청의 경우 라우터 및 AAA(인증, 권한 부여 및 계정) 서버와 같은 사용 가능한 네트워크 노드가 감시 대상자의 IP 미디어 스트림뿐만 아니라 인증 데이터를 모니터링할 수 있는 기능을 제공합니다. 반면 수동적 방법은 모든 트래픽을 모니터링하고 운영자의 네트워크에 통합되는 비침입적 네트워크 프로브에 의존합니다. 경우에 따라 능동적 방법과 수동적 방법을 결합하는 것이 최적의 결과를 보장하거나 유일한 실행 가능한 옵션인 경우도 있습니다.

Utimaco LIMS는 거의 모든 유형의 광대역 네트워크를 위한 광범위한 네트워크 라우터 및 액세스 게이트웨이를 지원합니다. LIMS는 Cisco SII, 주니퍼 DTCP, 노키아 LIP 등 다양한 공급업체별 차단 방법을 구현합니다.
