Utimaco acquires REALSEC to strengthen its solution portfolio and expand its regional presence

Aachen, Germany and Madrid, Spain, June 21, 2021 – Utimaco, a leading global provider of IT security solutions, announced that it has signed a Share Purchase Agreement with REALSEC, the Spanish IT security company and Hardware Security Module (HSM) provider. The closing of the acquisition is expected in July.

REALSEC is highly regarded by its customers for the competence in HSM and specializes in the development of encryption, digital signature, PKI and cybersecurity for blockchain & IoT solutions. As part of the Utimaco group, REALSEC will add its experience in the fields of cryptography, compliance, and regulations as well as key management and HSM. With its headquarters in Madrid, Spain, and strong regional presence in Latin America, REALSEC will complement Utimaco’s global presence especially in the Spanish-speaking world.
