Itan Barnes is part of Deloitte's cyber risk services team which helps companies to mitigate the quantum risk. Itan emphasizes the urgency of preparing company and infrastructure.
Mr. Barmes is a cybersecurity expert with a strong focus on cryptography. His focal area of interest is the impact of quantum information science on cyber-security e.g., quantum computation, post-quantum cryptography, quantum communication etc.
Mr. Barmes points out that his experience shows a lack of awareness in most companies. And the majority of the companies that are aware of the problem perceive it to be a challenge that needs to be solved in the future. The magnitude of the problem and the urgency to start mitigating the risk is largely underestimated.
