Utimaco übernimmt exceet Secure Solutions zur Stärkung der Platform of Trust

This acquisition is the next step in Utimaco’s strategy to build a comprehensive solutions and services portfolio with strong global delivery capability, following the acquisitions of US-based Geobridge and UK-based MYHSM in 2020.

Aachen and Duesseldorf, Germany, April 29, 2021 – Utimaco, a leading global provider of IT security solutions, announced that it has acquired exceet Secure Solutions GmbH (‘ESS’), a specialist for secure solutions in the fields of IT security and the Internet of Things (IoT). This acquisition is the next step in Utimaco’s strategy to build a comprehensive solutions and services portfolio with strong global delivery capability, following the acquisitions of US-based Geobridge and UK-based MYHSM in 2020.

ESS specializes in securing electronic business processes. In addition to a focus on the fields of IT security and IoT, the portfolio also extends to secure IoT gateways with hardware-based encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions and products, as well as services for electronic signatures and timestamps, including a full-service trust center operation certified by the German Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway).

ESS’ expertise and portfolio will be highly synergetic with Utimaco’s own offering in PKI, Xas-a-Service, IoT and electronic signature solutions. It will also strengthen Utimaco´s competence in the fast growing field of digital healthcare, as well as extend its professional services customization capabilities.
