What is a Private Key?
A private key, also known as a secret key, is a mathematical key (kept secret by the holder) used to create digital signatures and, depending on the algorithm, to decrypt messages or files encrypted (for confidentiality) with the corresponding public key.
What is Symmetric Cryptography?
A cryptographic key that is used to perform both the cryptographic operation and its inverse, such as encrypting and decrypting or creating and verifying a message authentication code. This means that the same key is required in order to perform both functions.
