Ensuring the privacy of all subscriber identities in the network
Privacy is described as the right to keep one's personal matters and relationships private. Mobile operators must guarantee to their subscribers that their devices and identity are protected.
For network providers, this means establishing and ensuring a secure communication environment and protecting all subscribers’ data. Therefore, the security architecture and associated procedures for network elements must provide a secure environment that protects long-term keys and Home Network Private keys from physical attacks. Functions that process sensitive subscriber data, such as subscriber identity de-concealing as well as authentication and key agreement, must also be executed in this secure environment.
Utimaco provides a variety of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for secure subscriber data management, including a specialized HSM that facilitates secure communication and privacy of subscriber identities in mobile networks.
