About the integration
This Integration Guide describes how to integrate an UTIMACO CryptoServer Hardware Security Module (HSM) with Apache Tomcat, storing the private keys for SSL and offloading the cryptographic operations to the HSM.
Apache Tomcat
Apache Tomcat software powers numerous large-scale, mission-critical web applications across a diverse range of industries and organizations. The Apache Tomcat software is an open source implementation of the Jakarta Servlet, Jakarta Server Pages, Jakarta Expression Language, Jakarta WebSocket, Jakarta Annotations and Jakarta Authentication specifications. These specifications are part of the Jakarta EE platform.
UTIMACO CryptoServer HSM
CryptoServer is a hardware security module developed by UTIMACO IS GmbH. CryptoServer is a physically protected specialized computer unit designed to perform sensitive cryptographic tasks and to securely manage as well as store cryptographic keys and data. It can be used as a universal, independent security component for heterogeneous computer systems.
