Microsoft Azure BYOK and ESKM
The integration of Microsoft Azure Cloud with Utimaco Enterprise Secure Key Manager (ESKM) enables organizations to securely manage encryption keys used for protecting data stored and processed in Azure. In this setup, ESKM functions as an external key manager, allowed the organization to retain full ownership and control of its encryption keys instead or relying on Azure-managed keys.
When integrated, Azure services can use the keys stored in ESKM to perform encryption and decryption operations. This ensures that all key usage is authorized and managed according to the organization’s security policies.
